The story
The saga in four chapters.
The name changed once. The idea that a part should outlast the trip it was bought for never has.
I · The V8 years
When things were hairy
Back when Aussie blokes wore stubbies and not much else, hairy was a compliment, and the car had to be hairier than its driver. The performance exhaust industry grew up to answer that, and Genie was one of its founding names, granting the wishes of a great many power-hungry drivers.
II · The racing years
Brock the legend
Peter Brock chose Genie for his high-performance cars through much of his racing career, and was impressed enough to become the face of the brand. Brock and Genie are both part of Australian motoring legend now.

Genie becomes Legendex
The field moved from V8 saloons to turbo-diesel 4WDs, and Genie moved with it, as Legendex. Most of the industry was scrapping over the cheap end of the market, so we built the other end: stainless, ultra heavy-duty exhausts with hangers that wrap the pipe and flanges cut from plate, not pressed from sheet. It is the largest range of its kind in Australia, and it still bolts to the factory mounting points.
IV · Today
Shield wall
Legendex is the retail arm of Viking Offroad, and it works the way a shield wall holds: every shield overlaps and nobody steps back. One crew designs the gear, builds it, fits it, tunes the engine on our own dyno and services the 4WD it goes on, and it is the same crew you talk to when you ring.
